Kakao Games announced on the 1st that it has signed a publishing agreement for the upcoming title 'Project OQ (working title)', currently in development at Supercat.

'Project OQ' is a 2.5D MMORPG that features retro pixel art and distinctive visual direction. Built on a proprietary 2D graphics engine developed by Supercat, the title aims to leverage a unique aesthetic and intuitive gameplay design intended to break down cultural barriers for a global audience.

With this deal, Kakao Games has secured the publishing rights for both the domestic and global markets (excluding China), further strengthening its new game portfolio. The publisher plans to utilize its operational expertise to provide full-scale marketing and stable service, while maintaining close collaboration with the talented team at Supercat to deliver a differentiated experience to players worldwide.

Founded in 2016, Supercat has a diverse track record, having developed titles such as the mobile MMORPG 'The Kingdom of the Winds: Yeon', 'Grow Stone Online', and 'Granny's House'. The developer is also behind the metaverse platform 'ZEP', which was created in a joint venture with Naver Z.
