NCSoft is set to release a beta version of its AI service, 'VARCO 3D', to the general public this July.

NC AI, the artificial intelligence media subsidiary of NCSoft, attended the 'GAME AiCON Seoul' event held at Dreamplus Gangnam on the 3rd. There, NC AI showcased practical use cases for tools that automate voice, sound, and animation production, while announcing the upcoming release of the beta version of its 3D generative model, 'VARCO 3D'.

VARCO is NCSoft's proprietary Large Language Model (LLM), which first made its debut in August 2023. At the time of its initial reveal, the company rolled out a small-to-medium-sized Korean-only LLM, alongside a suite of tools for image generation, text management, and the creation and operation of digital humans.

VARCO 3D is a 3D generative AI built upon this existing VARCO framework. By inputting text or 2D images, users can create 3D characters and objects. It is designed to help reduce game development costs and time, and is expected to be particularly useful for small and medium-sized development teams.

Meanwhile, NCSoft continues to accelerate its AI technology development. Since the launch of the VARCO LLM, NC AI has been gaining traction in the fashion sector and has introduced various solutions, such as 'Sound Palette', which supports sound generation and search capabilities across a wide range of applications.
