In a trial concerning systemic workplace misconduct at Ubisoft, three former executives have been found guilty. Throughout the proceedings, testimonies revealed a series of actions that defy all common sense, leaving fans in a state of shock.

On the 2nd (local time), the Bobigny Criminal Court in Paris, France, handed down guilty verdicts to three former Ubisoft executives—Tommy François, Serge Hascoet, and Guillaume Patrux—for charges including workplace harassment and sexual assault.

Tommy François received a three-year suspended sentence and a fine of 30,000 euros (approximately 48.16 million KRW). The court heard how he taped a female employee to a chair, pushed the chair into an elevator, and randomly pressed buttons. Furthermore, he forced a woman wearing a skirt to perform a handstand. During a 2015 company Christmas party themed after Back to the Future, he forcibly kissed a female employee. In defense, he claimed the company had a 'culture of joking' and insisted that he had no intention of causing harm.

Next, Serge Hascoet was handed a one-year and six-month suspended sentence along with a fine of 45,000 euros (approximately 72.25 million KRW). He admitted to handing a used tissue to a young woman, remarking that 'if you sell this at Ubisoft, you could get money close to the price of gold.' The court also confirmed that he harassed employees by forcing them to run personal errands, such as going to his home to receive deliveries. Legal counsel for Hascoet stated that an appeal is being considered.

Finally, Guillaume Patrux was sentenced to one year of probation and a fine of 10,000 euros (approximately 16.04 million KRW). The court confirmed that he punched walls, feigned physical assaults on staff, and cracked a whip near employees' faces. Additionally, he played with a lighter near an employee's face, ultimately setting fire to a man's beard. Despite these findings, he denied the allegations.

The trial, which began in early June, has now concluded its first instance. Victims testified that management was aware of these incidents but dismissed them, noting that sexually charged comments and 'jokes' were a nearly daily occurrence.
