Nexon is celebrating a decade of its youth programming competition, 'NYPC,' by launching a university-level league dubbed 'NYPC CODE BATTLE' alongside the 10th iteration of the Nexon Youth Programming Challenge (NYPC 2025).

Marking its 10th anniversary, the NYPC is expanding beyond its traditional youth demographic. The new NYPC Code Battle aims to provide a platform for continuous growth, challenging university students to craft optimal code within a gaming environment to outmaneuver opposing teams, thereby sharpening their problem-solving and collaboration skills.

The NYPC Code Battle is open to any undergraduate student, or anyone aged 20 to 25 (born between 2001 and 2006), with teams of 1 to 4 members. Registration runs from July 7th to August 18th via the official website. Additionally, the 'Code Battle: Campus League' event offers a chance for participants to get a taste of the competition through online mini-games.

The NYPC Code Battle consists of an online round and a final round, each featuring one open-ended problem. The online round takes place from August 8th to August 18th, with the top 20 teams earning a spot in the final round at the Nexon headquarters in Pangyo on October 25th.

Meanwhile, the youth-focused NYPC 2025 is open to anyone aged 12 to 19 (born between 2007 and 2014) with a passion for programming. Registration is open from July 7th to August 11th on the official NYPC website.

Round 1 of NYPC 2025 will be held online from August 7th to 11th, where meeting a specific score threshold secures a spot in the next stage. Round 2 follows on August 17th and 23rd as a timed online challenge. The final competition will take place on October 25th at the Nexon headquarters in Pangyo, alongside the NYPC Code Battle finals.

Nexon Foundation Director Kim Jung-wook stated, "As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of NYPC, we have curated a diverse range of new challenges for both youth and university students." The director added, "We are fully committed to preparing this event so that participants can unleash their creativity, collaborate, and grow into the talents of the future."

To mark the 10th anniversary, Nexon is hosting various events. The 'NYPC 10th Anniversary FESTA: Searching for NYP-ssi' will feature special lectures and gaming events for past winners and prospective participants to highlight the value of taking on challenges. Furthermore, a merchandise shop will operate, with all proceeds donated to charity.
