The Korean Chemical, Textile and Food Workers' Union (KCTU) is set to hold a rally in the park in front of Nexon Korea in Pangyo this 12th at 3:00 PM. The event is a show of solidarity, aiming to ensure that workers receive fair compensation in light of the ongoing Neople branch strike.

The KCTU has stated that this rally is intended to break the cycle of overwork and inequitable pay, demanding that Nexon—the party holding the actual decision-making power—takes responsibility. The Neople branch has two specific demands: transparency in evaluation and compensation criteria, and the implementation of a profit-sharing scheme that allocates 4% of operating profits to employees.

The union points out, "Neople achieved a record-breaking revenue of 1.3783 trillion won last year thanks to the Chinese launch of Dungeon & Fighter Mobile, with operating profits reaching 982.4 billion won." They further allege, "Despite these figures, Neople cut promised new development bonuses by about 30% while allocating 27.5 billion won to three executives—a tenfold increase from 2023. Furthermore, the lack of transparency in bonus calculations has led to pay gaps even among staff in the same job roles and evaluation brackets."

The union also stressed that Nexon, not just Neople, must be the ones to address these grievances. According to the KCTU, "During years of negotiations, Neople has consistently claimed that these are group-wide policies that cannot be easily changed, or that the demands are beyond the scope of Neople's independent decision-making. Since the compensation structure is applied uniformly across all subsidiaries and studios under the Nexon group, the entity with the power to decide—Nexon—must take full responsibility and resolve these issues."

Attendees at the rally will include Neople Branch Leader Jo Jung-woo, Nexon Chapter Leader Bae Su-chan, and key figures from the KCTU and its parent organization. The Neople branch has been engaged in a full-scale, five-day-a-week strike since August 1st and is currently in the midst of negotiations with management.
