The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (hereinafter referred to as KOCCA) entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (hereinafter referred to as K-SURE) on the 14th to bolster the global competitiveness of K-content.

KOCCA and K-SURE are introducing a specialized export guarantee system dubbed 'Cultural Industry Guarantee' to provide funding for domestic content companies looking to venture abroad. This product, jointly managed by both entities, allows for a maximum guarantee of 1 billion won per company as of 2025.

Unlike the previous content guarantee schemes that focused primarily on domestic distribution, this export guarantee acts as a specialized financial instrument strictly for overseas expansion.

K-SURE has agreed to cut the guarantee premium rate by 20% for content recommended by KOCCA, with the total scale of loan support expected to hit approximately 15 billion won.

Furthermore, KOCCA and K-SURE plan to push for group insurance support to safeguard export contracts signed by companies at events hosted by KOCCA, such as the K-Content Expo and joint Hallyu exhibitions.

Acting President Yoo Hyun-seok noted, "KOCCA has been crafting a flexible financial support system based on industry surveys and feedback to back the creative and production efforts of these firms." Yoo Hyun-seok added, "We will continue to actively foster a stable financial environment for K-content through this newly introduced export guarantee system."
