The damages suit regarding the leak of the MapleStory showcase, which took place last December, has finally reached a conclusion.

Nexon took to the official MapleStory website on the 14th to provide an update on the legal proceedings surrounding the unauthorized disclosure of the 'NEXT Showcase' details.

The saga began back on December 7th, when the winter showcase for MapleStory was blindsided by a massive leak. Before the team could even present their vision, details regarding the Union expansion, new Hexa Skill Mastery Cores, and the integration of the Maple Auction and Meso Market had already made their rounds online, causing quite a stir.

Update on Leak Response At the time, Nexon confirmed that the breach originated from 'an employee at one of the associated subcontractors.' Following the incident, Nexon pursued criminal charges against the leaker and those involved. By July, the court officially recognized the liability for the leak, ordering 100 million won in damages.

Nexon stated, "We must remind everyone that disseminating or attempting to leak information not yet revealed through official channels is a serious illegal act that hinders the service of MapleStory," adding, "We promise to continue responding firmly to such actions in the future."
