The 'UEFN with Gen.G' programme, a collaborative effort with the esports talent incubator Gen.G Global Academy, is making its return.

Epic Games announced on the 20th that it is accepting applications for the second cohort of 'UEFN with Gen.G' until 7 September. This joint venture aims to nurture the next generation of global creators and developers. Participants will dive into UEFN, a tool designed to make Unreal Engine more accessible, allowing them to conceptualise and build their own original games.

The second cohort, running for 10 weeks starting 13 September, is open to 10 university students from Gen.G University (GGU) with a passion for game development. The programme covers all tuition fees, and graduates will receive an official 'UEFN with Gen.G' certificate. The curriculum is managed by Unlimitreal, an institution specialising in Unreal Engine training, ensuring students receive a structured education from foundational principles to advanced development.

Looking ahead, the two organisations plan to host a 'Mega Game Jam' at the Gen.G culture complex GGX this December, bringing together graduates from both the first and second cohorts. Participants will present their creations to industry experts to gather feedback, with prizes awarded to the most promising developers. Kwon Oh-chan, Senior Evangelist at Epic Games, will provide direct feedback and lead the judging process to select the standout projects.
