Riot Games kicked off the 2025 Season 3 update for League of Legends (LoL) this past 27th.

Ranked queues went live at noon on Wednesday, the 27th. Your LP progress remains unchanged from the previous season, though the 'Victorious' missions—requiring 15 ranked wins to earn the Victorious skin—have been reset for the new season.

Aatrox and Xin Zhao are receiving visual overhauls. Aatrox keeps current mechanics intact but receives a fresh coat of paint on weapon-related visual effects. Xin Zhao, however, gets the full treatment: reworked models, animations, skill icons, voice lines, sound effects, splash art, and even a touch-up for all existing skins.

The PvE mode 'Doom Bots' is making a comeback. This update brings new difficulty tiers and bosses, including the 'Trials of Doom,' where you will face various 'curse' effects and bots equipped with Veigar’s passive, 'Phenomenal Evil Power,' offering a significantly more challenging experience than before.

Quality-of-life improvements are also on the menu. A jungle camp timer is coming to the minimap, letting you track respawn times for epic monsters and jungle camps at a glance. Furthermore, the death recap UI has been overhauled to display damage dealt and combat contribution, while also logging which ultimates and summoner spells were used against you.

Riot Games is planning a suite of events to celebrate the start of Season 3, both in-game and across the professional circuit, including the LCK. Further details regarding these festivities will be shared at a later date.
