The announcement of an anime adaptation for Needy Streamer Overload on the 10th has, rather predictably, dragged the messy dispute between creator 'Nyalra' and publisher 'WSS Playground' back into the spotlight.

WSS Playground broke the news via their official channel on the 10th. The series is slated for an April 2026 premiere, with Yostar Pictures taking the helm. Masatoki Nakashima, who earned his stripes with the Arknights PV and directing episode 7 of the Blue Archive anime, is set to direct. As for where you'll be streaming it? That remains a mystery for now.

The celebratory mood didn't last, though. Shortly after the reveal, Nyalra took to their personal X account to stir the pot. They alleged that WSS representative Daichi Saito had actively excluded them from the production and slapped a gag order on their promotional activities. This is just the latest chapter in a saga that kicked off back in April, with allegations that WSS systematically sidelined Nyalra and developer Xemono, sowed discord between them, and unfairly pocketed the lion's share of the profits.

The drama deepened on the 7th when Xemono dropped more receipts, claiming that profit distributions dating back to May 2023 haven't been paid out properly, even with lawyers involved. While some funds were eventually transferred following an agreement, they point out that opaque 'expenses' were deducted, leaving the actual settlement feeling like a farce. To top it off, they allege that WSS unilaterally terminated their contract in July 2025, cutting off their access to game sales revenue entirely.

In a post on the 10th, Nyalra reflected on the situation: "The team poured their heart into the world I created. I won't forget the staff who cried and raged alongside me when I was ousted from production in October 2025." They added, "I am currently working on new projects with former members of the team, one of which should be announced before the year is out. My deepest thanks go to the fans and partners who have supported me."

WSS fired back with their own statement on the 10th, claiming that "Nyalra's X post contains numerous factual errors." The publisher insists, "We received a request from Nyalra to leave the original Needy Streamer Overload team in April 2025, which we accepted." They further noted that legal representatives have been hammering out the details since August 2025, adding, "Due to confidentiality agreements and to protect those involved, we cannot disclose specific circumstances at this time."
