Huis Ten Bosch is looking to accelerate the growth of its theme park resort with the launch of 'Evangelion the Ride - 8K -' on April 24, 2026. This attraction marks Japan's first-ever Evangelion-themed 8K ride. On the same day, the park will roll out a variety of immersive experiences, including a park-wide stamp rally, night shows, themed dining, exclusive merchandise, and specialized hotel stays.

'Evangelion the Ride - 8K -' aims to deliver pure immersion by combining ultra-high-definition 8K visuals with dynamic ride motion. The attraction features a massive 8K LED dome screen—roughly 20,000 times the size of a smartphone—boasting a resolution 19 times sharper than Full HD, paired with cutting-edge motion technology. Visitors step into the role of temporary staff at the NERV Sasebo Branch, hidden within the European-style streets of Huis Ten Bosch, tasked with a battery transport mission. Naturally, things go south when an Angel appears, dragging you into the heart of a chaotic battle. You will feel every bit of the action—acceleration, impacts, and a sense of weightlessness—as the 8K footage captures every flying piece of debris.

Alongside the ride, Huis Ten Bosch is hosting the 'NERV Sasebo Branch Operation Proposal Stamp Rally.' As temporary staff, visitors wander the European streets to collect special stamps. The participant kit includes a NERV Sasebo Branch staff ID, and completing the mission earns you a personalized NERV employee ID card. Furthermore, the night show 'Shower of Light: HARMONICS WITH EVANGELION' will feature a special version themed around the Evangelion soundtrack's classical music. This spectacle, combining live performances, fireworks, light, and fountains against the Domtoren, runs from April 24 to September 13, 2026.

The collaboration extends to themed food and limited-edition merchandise. Expect character-inspired snacks and drinks, alongside local Nagasaki staples like lemon steak and champon given an Evangelion twist. You can also snag NERV Sasebo-themed goods, castella cakes, and original engraved items exclusive to the park. For the die-hards, the official Hotel Den Haag is offering a 'NERV Sasebo Branch Temporary Staff Accommodation' concept room, featuring exclusive new character illustrations and special merchandise for guests. Reservations for these rooms opened on February 26, and express passes for 'Evangelion the Ride - 8K -' have been on sale since February 22.

With the new ride opening, 'Air Cruise the Ride' will conclude its operations on April 19. Operating under the motto 'The Excitement Never Stops!', Huis Ten Bosch has been aggressively expanding over the past two years. This includes the deep-sea immersive attraction 'Mission Deep Sea Xsense Ride' in March 2024, the 'miffy Celebration' in spring 2024, the debut of 'Air Cruise the Ride' in September 2025, and the upcoming 'Miffy Wonder Square' arriving in June 2025.
