Webzen updated its MMORPG R2 Origin with a new large-scale competitive content, 'Spot Siege,' on the 16th. Spot Siege is a guild-based PvP mode that inherits the core content of the original R2.

Spot Siege takes place across multiple contested areas on Kolfort Island, the game's setting, where various guilds engage in fierce battles to occupy key locations. This content is held every Sunday from 8 PM to 9 PM, and any guild above a certain level can participate.

When the battle begins, Guardian Stones are generated at the spots. Guilds attempting to occupy a spot must destroy the opposing guild's Guardian Stone. Once the stone is destroyed, a core appears, and the guild master of the guild that destroyed it can perform an engraving. If the guild successfully defends the spot for 15 minutes after completing the engraving, the occupation is finalized.

Guilds that occupy a spot receive various benefits and regional occupation buffs. In particular, if a guild succeeds in consecutive weekly occupations, the buff effects are enhanced based on the number of weeks held, providing an advantage in field hunting and PvP.

With this update, Webzen plans to first introduce the combat system for Spot Siege, a major PvP content, and gradually expand large-scale PvP content based on user feedback. More details regarding the R2 Origin Spot Siege update can be found on the official brand site.
