MegaCrit has marked the one-month anniversary of Slay the Spire 2's early access launch by revealing its future roadmap and a breakdown of player statistics.

The developers are working toward a 1.0 release, with plans to add alternate Acts 2 and 3, new characters, and a variety of new cards and relics through content updates. On the technical side, they are preparing to introduce Steam Workshop support, additional language support, a monster bestiary, and experimental game modes.

Alongside these, they are working on overall polish, including bug fixes, compatibility and performance improvements, game balancing, and audio-visual refinements. In-game chat is a possibility, though matchmaking for multiplayer remains undecided. An endless mode will not be added, as the developers are concerned it would diminish the long-term enjoyment of deck-building.

MegaCrit also shared various player statistics. Over the past month, approximately 145 million runs have been completed. According to the data, when players discovered the Lantern Key in the colony, 56% returned it to the Knight, while 44% chose to fight. 88% of players who encountered 'Lepi the War Historian' chose to rescue him, and in the room filled with cheese, 63% chose to eat the cheese immediately to learn a new skill.

MegaCrit stated, "As a small team, we are doing our best to work at a healthy pace, so it is difficult to confirm exact update dates and schedules." They added, "It may not be the most systematic approach, but it allows for spontaneous experiments like conversations with ancient entities or the addition of rooms full of cheese." They further noted, "We have no intention of significantly expanding the studio size to finish the game faster, as overly strict deadlines often lead to sloppy, uninspired results."
