Since its release on the 26th, Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (hereafter Uma Musume) has been on an absolute tear as it enters its third week of service. It has managed to hold onto an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' user rating while consistently smashing its own peak Concurrent Players record.

The PC version of Uma Musume kicked things off with a peak of around 25,000 Concurrent Players on launch day. While things dipped slightly to the 21,000 range the following day—leading some to wonder if the launch hype was evaporating—the momentum only grew from there. By the second week, the growth rate accelerated, topping 30,000 players on the 4th and surging past 44,000 by the 8th. Even with the volume of reviews doubling compared to a week ago, the game maintains an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' rating (8,362 participants, 95% positive).

It is safe to assume that international fans, who have been waiting quite some time, are pleased. Although the game first launched in Japan in 2021 and arrived in Korea in 2022, it took four long years for the global server to finally materialize. Furthermore, unlike other free-to-play titles where monetization often triggers a wave of vitriol, reviewers here are responding with a 'we know, but it’s still fun' attitude. While the roadmap for future content is already known, it seems to be working in the game's favor for now.

The global server is currently handing out launch-commemorative login bonuses alongside daily race tickets. Additionally, the first Legend Race features a showdown against El Condor Pasa, with Special Week and Symboli Rudolf slated to follow.

Meanwhile, the Steam global top sellers list remains dominated by familiar faces even in the latter stages of the Summer Sale. One notable shift is the Phantom Liberty DLC, which climbed to 10th place thanks to its first 30% discount, further bolstering the ongoing success of Cyberpunk 2077.

In the Top 20 for peak Concurrent Players, Apex Legends slipped to 6th place with 169,309 players, a drop of about 20,000 from the previous day. While the start of Season 25 seemed to provide a temporary boost, ongoing operational issues appear to have made a decline in the player base inevitable.
