Nexon launched the first phase of the 'NEW RISE' update for Mabinogi on the 10th.

First off, the combat system has been overhauled. Dungeons are now split into solo and party play modes to better balance difficulty, and tedious gimmicks—like the zombie zones in Feth Fiada or the corridors in Crom Bás—have been scrapped for a smoother experience.

Furthermore, the Tech Duinn dungeons have been consolidated into a single standard difficulty, now accessible solo. Crom Bás and Glenn Bearna have been segmented into 'Easy' (solo) and 'Normal' (party) modes. In the Glenn Bearna Easy mode, players can even enlist the help of the NPC 'Merlin' to clear the content.

The developers have also mapped out a clearer growth path, stringing together Uladh Hard Mode, Tech Duinn, Crom Bás, Glenn Bearna, and Brittin. Essential gear and progression items can now be farmed directly from these dungeons.

Uladh dungeons and Tech Duinn now allow for unlimited play to farm growth materials, and the new 'Near' item has been introduced to boost the chances of securing high-value rewards.

The gear system has also undergone a facelift. Weapons and armor are now categorised by grade—Normal, Rare, Elite, Epic, and Master—offering a much clearer sense of progression. Additionally, players can now transfer key stats like Reforge, Erg, and Enchantment from old gear to newer equipment.

Nexon added the new 'Alby Shining Marble Dungeon,' where players can loot high-tier weapons and armor. Convenience has also been cranked up; the Reforge system is simplified, removing rank and line extensions, and now guarantees a Rank 1, 3-line option upon use of a Reforge Tool.

Nexon is running the summer-exclusive 'NEW Fever Season' alongside this update until September 11th. It is designed to fast-track character and gear development, making it much quicker than previous pre-seasons.

Players can also enjoy perks like free Premium Combination Memberships, full repair fee coverage, and special inventory space, with all bonus buffs activated on weekends and Mondays. Those with a cumulative level of 40,000 or below get daily free rebirths and an extra level-up boost. Limited-time rewards include Corgi selection boxes, Perseus-tier weapons, Refined armor, and Sporty Casual outfit boxes.

Until September 11th, a 'Fast Track' event hosted by the new NPC 'Reimi' is available. Users who haven't unlocked all six Arcana types or hit 10 links can follow the in-game guide quest to reach level 20,000 in just one hour and instantly unlock an Arcana class at level 50 with 10 links.

There is more in store for the summer. A 'Web Dressroom' is launching, allowing players to customise their characters freely via the web or mobile site. Once a set is saved, it can be equipped directly in the in-game Dressroom.

Players can also rent over 3,000 outfits for free to style their characters, with the option to keep one set after the event concludes. Additionally, a character name auction house, where names can be traded for gold, is set to arrive in July.

Nexon is also launching a Mabinogi Point Return event for those who spent over 1,000 paid currency in the item shop between January 2024 and June 2025, offering 10% of their spending back as Mabinogi Points.

In the Point Shop, players can trade these points for items like the Battlefield Cutie Pet Box, Sophisticated Reforging Tools, Vibe Cath Deity Doll Bag gift boxes, 30-day Premium Combination Memberships, and Mainstream Skip Tickets.
