Neople has canceled 'DNF Universe 2025', a grand showcase originally intended to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Dungeon & Fighter (DNF) by bringing together all titles under the IP. While the official statement does not explicitly cite the reason, it is widely understood that the ongoing strike sparked by labor disputes at Neople has forced the decision.

Neople confirmed on the 14th via the official DNF website that DNF Universe 2025 will no longer take place. In a statement regarding the cancellation, Neople remarked, "Due to internal circumstances, we have determined that it is difficult to present all the content we originally aimed to showcase with a sufficient level of polish. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused by this sudden announcement."

The event was designed to feature major updates for the latter half of the year, hands-on demo zones, lectures focused on DNF, and a range of collaboration merchandise. Given that such an event requires significant manpower for both presentations and interactive elements, the tight schedule leading up to the original early August date likely proved impossible to manage with a depleted workforce due to the strike.

However, the DNF update roadmap remains largely intact. DNF Director Jong-min Park addressed the situation in a developer note on the 14th, stating, "Although the event is canceled, there are no plans to adjust the immediate update schedule." Balancing patches for characters and equipment are slated for the First Server (test server) on the 16th, with a live server rollout targeting the 24th. Furthermore, Director Park shared development progress on the 'Twilight of Twilight' farming region—a precursor to the Delezie Raid—and teased the new monster via concept art.

In place of the canceled festivities, Neople is pivoting to a social contribution initiative that provides a space for children to play. The 'Universe Handay', originally planned as an in-person market for user-created merchandise and onsite events, will now transition to an online format. Finally, Neople has promised to return with a much more robust DNF Universe event in the future.
