The Korea Indie Game Association is teaming up with NC AI to host a game development contest featuring 'VARCO 3D', an AI-powered 3D asset creation tool.

The competition aims to help developers and aspiring creators broaden their creative experience with AI tech while lowering the barrier to entry for 3D game production. The Korea Indie Game Association is providing the stage for indie creators, while NC AI is offering free access to VARCO 3D.

VARCO 3D is a tool designed to generate 3D assets using AI. Participants get free access during the contest, and entries must have at least 50% of their core game assets crafted using VARCO 3D.

Registration for the contest runs from July 18 to July 31, with the main event taking place from August 1 to August 31. The winners will be announced on September 22.

A total of 7.5 million won in prize money is available, including 3 million won for the grand prize (one team), 2 million won for the top prize (one team), and 500,000 won each for five excellence awards. Every participant receives a certificate of participation, and student entrants may earn bonus points for future NC AI internship opportunities.

Furthermore, winning entries will be showcased through various events and media platforms hosted or supported by NC AI, with potential opportunities for keynote presentations and extra promotional support if required.

The Korea Indie Game Association stated, "VARCO 3D is a tool that can practically dismantle the technical and financial hurdles indie developers face," adding that "the association remains committed to partnering with tech firms to build platforms that support the creative ambitions of indie creators."
