The Nexon Foundation has officially inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) alongside the Korea Energy Agency and the Computing Teachers Association, all in a bid to push digital content for energy education among the next generation.

The goal here is rather straightforward: by teaming up to craft and distribute energy-themed digital learning tools, they hope to leverage immersive, story-driven narratives to help young learners better grasp the importance of responsible energy consumption.

The Nexon Foundation is bringing its free block-coding platform, 'HelloMaple', to the table. The plan involves developing unplugged, play-based energy convergence education for lower-grade elementary students, while providing digital-based content for those in higher grades. The Korea Energy Agency will oversee the energy education program as a whole, while the Computing Teachers Association takes charge of developing and rolling out the actual curriculum.

Once ready, these educational materials will be distributed to elementary schools nationwide through teachers and AI digital education instructors. To keep spirits high, the program will also issue step-by-step certificates and digital badges to the students.

Seongnam Jangan Elementary School in Gyeonggi-do has been named a 'HelloMaple Future Classroom'. The space has been kitted out with HelloMaple-themed blinds and desk mats, allowing students to dive straight into pilot programs utilizing these new digital energy modules.

Nexon Foundation Chairman Kim Jung-wook stated, "HelloMaple is a platform designed so that anyone can learn the basics of coding and digital literacy in an easy, engaging way." Kim Jung-wook added, "Through this partnership, we aim to build a digital-era energy education model that encourages students to think for themselves and put what they learn into practice."

Since its official launch last September, HelloMaple has served as a block-coding platform that allows users to master the fundamentals of programming by utilizing the IP resources and content from the MapleStory universe.
