On the 8th, Epic Games unveiled the 'Chapter 6 Season 4: Shock N' Awesome' update for Fortnite Battle Royale. This season introduces three new zones, with gameplay largely revolving around missions set in 'The Hive', a location crawling with bug activity. Players can pick up their tactical orders at 'O.X.R. HQ', while 'Ranger's Ruin'—formerly an O.X.R. weapons lab—is now a prime spot for hunting down high-tier loot.

The island is currently swarming with all manner of pests. You will encounter the common 'Swarmers', 'Bombers' that guard nests and pelt you with ranged attacks, and the formidable 'Queen', a massive boss that emerges once you destroy a nest. These Queens appear in 'The Hive', 'Ranger's Ruin', and 'Demon's Domain', offering up Mythic weapons and combat-assisting medallions upon their defeat.

To deal with the infestation, a suite of new weapons and items has been deployed. The arsenal includes the rechargeable 'Bug Blaster' plasma weapon, the 'Hammerhead Helicopter' for aerial mobility, plus the 'Lead Launcher 3000' minigun, 'Cleaner Shotgun', and the 'O.X.R. Rifle'. Later in the season, Epic Games plans to spice things up by adding 'Pill Bugs'—which you can ride for rapid transit—and the iconic 'Blade Blaster' sidearm.

Furthermore, players can acquire 'Graces' from chests, pouches, and quest rewards. These provide augmentations to boost weapon performance or survivability, with options ranging from 'Agile Aim Grace' and 'Extended Magazine Grace' to 'Storm Forecast Grace' and 'Super Soldier Rank Grace'.

Meanwhile, the 'Shock N' Awesome' Battle Pass features a roster of outfits including 'UNSC Spartan', 'Yumi', 'Patch Agent', and 'Combat Gamer May', alongside season-specific characters like 'Lieutenant Rip Slade', 'Onyx Winter', and 'Green Ranger'. Battle Pass holders can also unlock the 'Dino Megazord' outfit by completing specific quests starting from September 16 (local time).
