The new region dubbed the 'Demonic Realm' in the Black Desert lore, 'Edania', is set to arrive in a two-part rollout.

Pearl Abyss announced on the 20th that it has deployed the new region, 'Demonic Realm: Edania'. Described as a world where chaos and order, good and evil collide, Edania serves as the primary stage for the core narrative of Black Desert. The update is split into two phases; Part 1, featuring the 'Throne of Edana', went live on the 20th, while Part 2 is slated for release on September 10.

The 'Throne of Edana' is a fresh PvP mode focused on crowning a supreme ruler. Adventurers must engage in an endless cycle of duels within the various bosses' castles to seize the throne and become the 'Edana'. Once claimed, the Edana must defend the title from weekly challengers, or face the ignominy of losing their status. The benefits for the Edana are, frankly, quite substantial: ▲ the 'Crown of Edana' helmet ▲ a cut of the regional tax revenue ▲ death penalty immunity within the territory ▲ instant teleportation to their own castle ▲ and the 'Blessing of Edana' buff.

Alongside Part 1, the developer has introduced the 'Edania Armour', a Genesis-grade gear set. Featuring a dark and imposing aesthetic fitting for the realm, this gear is crafted by upgrading existing top-tier equipment with 'Shards of Edana'. To help players find their footing, Pearl Abyss is also providing growth support quests that grant 'Silent' grade Archaic armour.

The update doesn't stop at combat; it packs in a heap of new items and life-skill content. Hunters can now loot new relics, crystals, and lightstones from mobs. For the alchemists, new draughts, elixirs, and perfumes offering bonus damage against Edanian species are now craftable. Collectors will find exclusive resources like the Caphras Tree, Ensla Goat, and Rusalka Stone Crab, alongside new freshwater and saltwater fish. Oh, and for the interior designers among you, 20 new furniture pieces reflecting the unique atmosphere of Edania have also been added.
