After grabbing headlines this past May with its Street Fighter 6 crossover, Overwatch 2 is seemingly ready to dip its toes into the world of Japanese RPG royalty with a collaboration featuring Persona 5.

Blizzard dropped an official trailer on the 22nd detailing the roadmap for Season 18. The update introduces a Stadium Quick Play mode and welcomes a brand new support hero, the elemental caster 'Wooyang'. Towards the end of the clip, we catch a glimpse of a red background, a grey star, and that signature white phantom mask synonymous with Joker from Persona 5, all but confirming the collaboration.

Since its 2023 collaboration with the anime 'One-Punch Man', Overwatch 2 has been on a bit of a crossover spree, pairing up with various anime, games, and pop idols. Back in late April, the title also made waves by introducing Gundam-themed skins through a partnership with 'Mobile Suit Gundam Wing'. It is safe to assume the upcoming Persona 5 content will follow the tried-and-tested formula of premium skins, emotes, and themed animations.

Meanwhile, the new season brings more than just a fresh coat of paint; it includes Stadium content refinements, the aforementioned support hero, and a series of perks. The Stadium mode will now feature Winston, Brigitte, and Pharah, while the Quick Play queue has been tweaked to speed up matchmaking. As for the new arrival, Wooyang joins the roster as a support hero who manipulates water to heal allies and knock back pesky enemies.

On top of that, Season 18 is overhauling over 50 unique hero perks. Every single hero is set to receive at least one new perk, while existing ones for Lucio, Winston, and Pharah are undergoing balance adjustments. To round things off, matchmaking MMR is getting a soft reset alongside structural adjustments to high-rank tier divisions.

Overwatch 2 Season 18 kicks off on the 27th.
