HoYoverse has announced that the 2.2 update for 'Zenless Zone Zero', titled 'Don't Go Gentle Into That Good Night', is set to arrive on September 4.

In this 2.2 update, the narrative follows the Public Security squad as they deploy the Obol Squad into the heart of chaos to mop up the remnants after thwarting the plot of the Hollow Research Association. As the Public Security operation intensifies, the power struggle on the Weifang Peninsula reaches its boiling point, while the mysterious past and internal struggles of the Obol Squad—most notably its elite member, 'Burnice'—are finally brought to light.

Joining the roster as new S-Rank Agents are the mechanical genius of the Obol Squad, 'Burnice', and the leader 'Caesar & 'King''. The Electric-attribute Attack Agent 'Burnice' utilizes a heavily modified mech partner, 'Big Burnice', to suppress enemies with sheer firepower. The agent is optimized for cooperative strikes with other Attack Agents, effectively boosting the team's sustained DPS.

The Fire-attribute Attack Agent 'Caesar & 'King'' employs a 'Precision Aim' mechanic. By consuming the 'Condensed Heat' gathered through Enhanced Special Skills, the entire team enters this state, which grants an attack boost and allows a portion of the aftershock damage to ignore enemy defenses.

Players can also look forward to 'Mercury', an S-Rank Bangboo that supports combat by piloting a tank, alongside the return of the Electric-attribute Stun character 'Trigger' and the Fire-attribute Attack character 'Evelyn'.

Beyond the new maps and adversaries, there is a tower defense event called 'Little Bangboo is a Brave Defender' to keep you busy. Completing specific stages will net you the new A-Rank Bangboo 'Excalibur'. Additionally, the casual 'Rhythm Torrent' event opens, challenging you to match beats and rhythms for various in-game rewards.

Looking ahead, a future version will see '0-Number-Enby' return with 'Potential Awakening' after undergoing intense secret training, promising even more formidable capabilities.
