Needs Games pulled back the curtain on its dark fantasy action RPG, 'Dark December', via a promotional trailer released on the 4th.

The developer behind the hack-and-slash RPG 'Undecember' is back, positioning 'Dark December' as a prequel to its flagship title. They’re promising a sweeping narrative coupled with the kind of visceral combat that fans of the studio have come to expect.

The story shifts focus to the origins of the Twelve Gods—a plot point barely touched upon in 'Undecember'—and introduces a unique race known as the 'Sirian'. As you traverse this world, you’ll be piecing together the truth behind these deities and your own mysterious identity through fresh encounters and trials.

On the gameplay front, you’re looking at the usual suspects of deep progression: class-specific skills, rune synergies, passive masteries, talismans, and a crafting system that’ll keep you busy. Combat is equally varied; you’ve got the tiered difficulty of the 'Abyss of Chaos', the rare 'Divine Realm of Chaos' bonus dungeons, the strategic boss-hunting 'Corridor of Oblivion', the wave-defence style 'Dimensional Rift Veles', and, of course, the requisite co-op raids.

The trailer paints a grim picture, featuring a desolate, medieval-inspired landscape where classes like the Berserker, Morgana, and Raven show off their distinct combat styles. Watching them team up against a colossal boss gives us a solid look at the gritty, dense action the team is aiming for.
