A new multiplayer bullet-hell shooter set in the Postal universe has been unceremoniously cancelled.

Running With Scissors (RWS) announced on the 5th that they have completely pulled the plug on their new project, 'POSTAL: Bullet Paradise'. The title was being developed by external studio Goonswarm Games, with RWS handling publishing duties.

The game was pitched as a multiplayer action roguelike featuring a multiverse premise, letting players step into the shoes of iconic Postal characters. However, shortly after the reveal, eagle-eyed community members pointed out that the trailer appeared to be stuffed with generative AI content. The backlash gathered pace at an alarming rate, leading to a surge of negative sentiment.

Caught in the crossfire, RWS issued a statement via their official social media channels just 48 hours later. They admitted the game had received an 'Overwhelmingly Negative' response from the Postal community. They conceded that the inclusion of AI-generated assets had caused significant damage to both the Postal brand and the company's reputation, ultimately leading to the project's demise. Both the official YouTube trailer and the Steam store page have since been taken down.

RWS stated, 'As always, we aim to communicate with our community with transparency. Our trust in the development team has been shattered, and the project has been killed,' adding that they will now pivot their focus toward new projects and updates coming after 2026.
