Nightwolf Games has officially launched its first-person psychological horror title, 'Perpetuo', as of the 1st.

The title, derived from the Latin for 'perpetual', lives up to its name by trapping you—the protagonist searching for a missing sister—in a flat that seemingly loops into infinity. The first-person perspective, coupled with weathered textures and a gritty body-cam aesthetic, certainly cranks up the dread.

You'll navigate a reality warped by a ritual gone wrong, where the environment shifts under your feet. With every loop, furniture migrates and walls transform, forcing you to hunt for clues and solve puzzles to uncover the truth. Beware, however; the entity lurking in the shadows is watching you, learning your habits and adapting its approach accordingly.

The update on the 1st refined the lighting and visibility in key areas to make exploration a bit less of a chore, alongside polished interactions for various puzzles. New environmental effects like storms and floods have been added, and they’ve even thrown in haptic feedback support for controllers.

As of the 1st, Perpetuo is sitting on a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam (93% positive from 15 reviews). Players are chiming in with praise, noting it’s a 'cheap, short, but genuinely scary experience,' 'a traditional narrative-loop horror rather than just another Exit 8 clone,' and that the 'atmosphere is stellar, with impressive attention to detail.'

Perpetuo is out now on PC. Note that there is no Korean language support at the moment. To celebrate the launch, it’s currently available at a 50% discount for 2,800 won.
