Escape from Duckov, the extraction shooter that made quite a splash late last year, is finally crossing paths with the genre's founding father, Escape from Tarkov.

Developer Team Soda broke the news on the 31st via their Steam page. The update is set to drop on the 10th, bringing a fresh Tarkov-themed map and new characters into the quirky world of Duckov.

The teaser trailer offers a cheeky peek at what's coming: expect to see iconic military-grade body armour and helmets, alongside automated turrets and dangerous new foes lurking in unfamiliar territory.

Escape from Duckov, released last October, features adorable ducks scavenging for loot and upgrading their base. By binning the usual PvP stress, it has managed to keep the tactical thrill of extraction and resource management alive, proving its mettle by selling over 3 million copies in just three weeks.

Escape from Tarkov, which began its open beta in 2017 before officially launching last November, has had its fair share of dust-ups regarding pricing and developer remarks over its nine-year run. Still, one can't deny it set the blueprint for the entire extraction genre.
