On March 12, 2026, Intel unveiled its new desktop processor series, the 'Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus'. The lineup consists of the 'Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus' and the 'Intel Core Ultra 5 250K/KF Plus' models. Intel claims that the 'Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus' delivers the fastest desktop gaming performance in the company's history. The products will be available for purchase starting on the 26th.

Intel stated that the 'Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus' series provides up to double the creator workload performance compared to competitors. Furthermore, it offers an average 15% improvement in gaming performance compared to existing 'Intel Core Ultra Series 2' desktop processors, and supports up to 103% higher multi-threaded performance than rival CPUs in the same class.

The new series enhances multi-threaded performance through architectural improvements. The 'Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus' features 24 cores (8 P-cores, 16 E-cores), while the 'Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus' has been increased to 18 cores (6 P-cores, 12 E-cores). By increasing the die-to-die clock speed by up to 900MHz compared to the existing 'Intel Core Ultra 7 265K/KF' and 'Intel Core Ultra 5 245K/KF', the series reduces system latency and boosts gaming performance.

This series introduces the 'Intel Binary Optimization Tool', which enhances native performance in specific games. This tool improves the processor's IPC (Instructions Per Clock) to enhance the user experience. Memory support has also been strengthened, offering DDR5 7200 MT/s speeds, with support for up to 8000 MT/s memory overclocking when used with the 'Intel Core Ultra 200S Boost BIOS' profile. It also proactively supports '4-Rank CUDIMM' memory, which allows for up to 128GB per module.

The 'Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus' desktop processors are compatible with all currently available 800 series chipset motherboards. New 800 series chipset motherboard models that include support for '4-Rank CUDIMM' memory are scheduled to be released in 2026.

The recommended retail price for the 'Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus' starts at $299, and the 'Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus' starts at $199.
