Publisher CFK has partnered with domestic indie developer Deerfarm to officially announce 'Shikhondo ~Blue Pieta~', the latest entry in the oriental fantasy bullet hell shooter series 'Shikhondo'. The game is scheduled for a global release on Steam in the first half of 2026.

'Shikhondo ~Blue Pieta~' is the successor to the previous title, 'Shikhondo: Youkai Rampage', which was well-received upon its release on Steam in 2024 and Nintendo Switch in 2025. This installment shifts the setting to a foreign city, featuring a story where an Eastern grim reaper and a Western vampire hunter meet and engage in a new struggle. The game follows a vampire hunter who has been fighting darkness in a foreign land for a long time, and a rookie Eastern grim reaper who has crossed the sea to find her, depicting the events that unfold when these two characters from different worlds cross paths.

Notably, unlike its predecessor, 'Shikhondo ~Blue Pieta~' adopts a side-scrolling shooter genre. Moving away from the traditional vertical-scrolling screen of the genre, it aims to showcase the unique charm of the Shikhondo series in a side-scrolling format. CFK CEO Koo Chang-sik and Deerfarm CEO Ko Young-jin stated, "The Shikhondo series is the result of Deerfarm's long-standing effort and passion, and this new title, 'Shikhondo ~Blue Pieta~', is a work that embodies a new challenge for the series alongside the side-scrolling screen, so we hope fans around the world will look forward to it."

Following the Steam launch in the first half of 2026, the game is planned to expand to various console platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PS5.
