A new auto-battler dungeon crawler has been released, where you play as a necromancer raising various types of skeletons to conquer dungeons.

Developer 8BitSkull launched Skull Horde on Steam on the 11th. In Skull Horde, players control a flying skeletal necromancer leading a legion, collecting powerful loot, and summoning hordes of skeletons to battle against living creatures.

As of the 12th, Skull Horde holds a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam (86% positive out of 202 reviews). The core of the game involves exploring procedurally generated dungeons and building powerful character builds. The dungeons are filled with enemies that require different strategies, and items necessary for growth, such as chests and loot, are placed throughout.

Players must choose efficient exploration paths to face dungeons that grow increasingly difficult over time, and they must support their army by selecting up to six different unit types to ensure effective combat. As a result, the game focuses on strategy, where players concentrate on unit growth, movement, and deciding how to develop their legion rather than participating in direct combat. Players must manage resources efficiently while maintaining optimal combat power by considering the synergy between loot acquired in the dungeon and unit classes.

Each unit can be upgraded through a synthesis function, making it important to purchase multiple units of the same type to secure stronger, higher-tier units and acquire special abilities to bolster the legion's strength. Since each unit possesses unique abilities, the flow of combat changes significantly depending on the legion's composition. Some loot interacts with units having specific tags to provide additional effects, so players need to consider their growth direction carefully.

Furthermore, the player character, the necromancer, also has growth elements. Players can gain experience points during each run to level up and unlock various perks that can be selected at the start of the game. Additionally, players can design their own legions by combining characters with different abilities and perks. New content is also provided upon completing unique challenges found in each dungeon.
