While the Illusionist naturally dominated the class distribution and carved its name into the top-tier charts, this week's integrated ranking chart sees an old champion return to the fray. A team that switched back to the 'Gunner' has set a new record, proving that it remains a powerhouse for PvE content. Let’s dive into the details with the latest KookminTree data.

'Ppagguyanolja' returns from Illusionist to Gunner, setting a new record

The June dungeon race started with top records in the 9-second range, and we are now knocking on the door of the 7-second mark. Once again, the 'Ppagguyanolja & Alt' team has rewritten the history books with an 8.143-second run. Shaving 0.443 seconds off the previous best is impressive, but the real story here is the pivot in team composition. After the Illusionist dropped, the team had been running an 'Illusionist & Qi Master' setup. Most expected them to stick with the new toy, but they opted to return to the classic 'Gunner & Qi Master' combo.

This shift has widened the gap between them and the runner-up team, 'Geumsangcheomhwa'. The lead has stretched from a razor-thin 0.058 seconds last week to a more comfortable 0.235 seconds. It’s too early to call the race over, but reverting to a familiar synergy seems to have been a masterstroke. We shall see if this holds up in next week’s final tally.

The Gunner makes a comeback while the Illusionist hits a speed bump

Beyond the top-tier records, the Illusionist’s dominance in the general class distribution has faltered slightly. Their share dipped by 0.9 percentage points, with that slice of the pie being redistributed among established favourites like the Gunner and Qi Master. Other classes have largely held their ground, maintaining their relative positions.

Among the less-frequented classes, the 'Lyn Blade Dancer' is putting in a stellar performance. When they first appeared at the bottom of the chart, many dismissed it as a temporary side effect of the class change coupons. However, they have since climbed to 7th place, overtaking the 'Destroyer'. Rumour has it among the disciples that their high mobility and burst damage potential make them a sleeper hit for PvE. It is a bit late in the season for extensive theory-crafting, but I look forward to seeing if they become a focal point for dungeon enthusiasts once the July race kicks off.

Time to tighten the criteria!

This week’s dungeon race saw the number of participants swell by 57 compared to last week. With a steep upward trend throughout June, we might even cross 1,100 participants by the final count next week. In the 'Jeongwangseokhwa' server, which is crawling with high-level players, more than 200 rankers have entered the fray—well beyond the 200-person limit visible in the monthly rankings. It is clearly time to adjust our metrics.

We will maintain the current 1 minute 30 seconds threshold until next week's final settlement, but for the July dungeon race, we plan to slash that limit by 30 seconds. We need a tighter filter to ensure we can actually distinguish between the top-tier speedrunners.

With that in mind, some classes are looking a bit precarious in the TOP 3 class-by-class data. The 'Warlock', 'Warden', and 'Bard' have all clocked in over 1 minute. Fortunately, the 1st and 2nd place finishers are still just barely under the wire. To those playing these classes, keep your heads up—we are cheering for you to push that much harder!
