The Epic Games Store is offering the Platinum Edition of 'Sid Meier's Civilization VI' (hereinafter Civilization VI) for free.

The free giveaway for the Civilization VI Platinum Edition will run for one week, from 00:00 KST on July 18 to 00:00 KST on July 25. During this period, users can log in to the Epic Games Store and add the edition to their library to keep it permanently.

Civilization VI is a turn-based strategy game released on October 21, 2016. Players choose a civilization and guide it from the dawn of humanity to the space age, developing culture and competing against other civilizations. Players can achieve victory by meeting various conditions such as diplomacy, culture, or science.

The 'Civilization VI Platinum Edition' being distributed for free includes the base game along with several expansions and DLCs. It features a total of 6 civilization and scenario packs, including Vikings, Poland, Australia, Persia and Macedon, Nubia, and Khmer and Indonesia. The 'Rise and Fall' and 'Gathering Storm' expansions are also included. However, the New Frontier Pass and Leader Pass are not included.

This is not the first time the base game of Civilization VI has been offered for free on the Epic Games Store. In May 2020, during the Epic Mega Sale, the base game and the Aztec Civilization Pack were provided for free.
