Release dates for several highly anticipated titles, including Nioh 3, Marvel's Wolverine, and Code Vein II, have finally been unveiled.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) pulled back the curtain on a slew of new titles during its 'State of Play' showcase on the 25th (KST). As the primary stage for SIE to showcase upcoming PS5 software and hardware, the event is always a magnet for attention, and this latest instalment certainly didn't disappoint, offering a glimpse at a packed schedule for the coming year.

First off, Bandai Namco Entertainment has locked in a release date for Code Vein II. The original title carved out a niche with its unique blend of Soulslike gameplay and vampire-themed lore, maintaining a loyal following since 2019. This numbered sequel promises to double down on those vampiric roots while introducing fresh blood-based combat mechanics and expanded customisation. The developer has teased a narrative that leaps between past and present, which is sure to pique some interest. Code Vein II is set to arrive on 30 January 2026.

The dark fantasy action RPG Nioh 3 also stepped into the spotlight with a firm release date. The developer has expanded the scope this time, pivoting to an open-world structure that grants players significantly more freedom. Combat remains a core pillar, allowing players to fluidly switch between Ninja and Samurai fighting styles. It aims to bridge the gap between high-octane 'Musou' action and the punishing tension of a top-tier action RPG. Nioh 3 is slated for launch on 6 February next year.

Housemarque, the studio that helped define the early PS5 era with Returnal, finally unveiled gameplay and a release date for its new IP, Saros. Inheriting the third-person action and narrative DNA of its predecessor, Saros is set on the ominous, eclipse-ridden alien colony of Carcosa. Players can expect a roguelike loop where death grants permanent upgrades, ensuring that every run feels distinct. Saros officially launches on 20 March next year.

Insomniac Games also dropped a new gameplay trailer and a behind-the-scenes look at Marvel's Wolverine. Both clips lean heavily into the iconic, razor-sharp claws, showcasing a visceral combat style. The footage also highlighted traversal mechanics—think scaling ceilings and traversing building exteriors—while confirming appearances from Marvel mainstays like Mystique and Sentinels. Marvel's Wolverine is expected to drop in the autumn of 2026.

Meanwhile, the State of Play didn't stop there; Netmarble confirmed that The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin will launch on 28 January next year, alongside Pearl Abyss's Crimson Desert which is set for 19 March next year. Other announcements included a remaster of Deus Ex and the third instalment of Dynasty Warriors.
