HoYoverse is set to roll out the 'Second Moon' update for Genshin Impact on the 22nd, titled 'Song of the Hollow Moon: Repeat - Elegy of the Vanished Moonlight'.

This update introduces a new chapter in the Nordcrai storyline and brings the fresh playable character 'Nefer' into the mix. Perhaps more intriguingly, they are also rolling out a new UGC (User Generated Content) system dubbed 'Star-Sea World'.

In the new Archon Quest, you will find yourself teaming up with the unlikely trio of Favonius Grandmaster Varka and Fatui Harbingers Arlecchino and Sandrone to take on the Moon Hunter, Lelir.

Nefer, the mysterious head of the 'House of Secrets', plays a pivotal role in unearthing the truths hidden behind the Moon Hunter's obsession. With an uncanny instinct for sniffing out buried secrets using an extensive intel network, you can exchange the gathered information at the Adventurers' Guild for some fascinating anecdotes.

Mechanically, Nefer is a 5-star Dendro Catalyst wielder. She consumes 'Dendro Dew' to trigger a unique charged attack called 'Illusionary Play'. By summoning her own reflections to join the fray, she deals 'Moon Bloom' damage. When entering the 'Lunar Omen: Full Moon' state, her Elemental Skill converts all Dendro Cores into 'Cores of Deceit', which she then absorbs to unleash a buffed charged attack and a devastating AoE Dendro Elemental Burst.

The first half of the 'Second Moon' character banners will feature Nefer alongside a Furina rerun, while the second half brings Arlecchino and Zhongli back into the spotlight.

The new 'Star-Sea World' UGC system becomes accessible once you complete the Mondstadt Archon Quest Prologue, Act I: 'The Outlander Who Caught the Wind'. It promises a buffet of hundreds of stages including management sims, party games, PvP combat, and adventure challenges.

Players can also harness in-game assets and mechanics to craft their own custom stage types and game modes. HoYoverse is providing official tutorials, a dedicated forum, featured stage opportunities, and even incentive programmes for creators to earn extra rewards.

You can also customise your own 'Star Doll' avatar to mingle with others in the lobby, chat away, or invite them to join you in various stages.

Elsewhere, listen to Columbina’s tales in the Moonlight Garden to gain the 'Full Moon' combat buff and an exclusive namecard signifying her grace. Seasonal events also offer the chance to unlock secrets of ancient Sumerian ruins, with rewards including a free Collei invitation and Primogems.
