The Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) has announced an open recruitment for national team coaches for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

A total of four coaches will be selected for the 2026 Asian Games esports national team: one dedicated coach for fighting games (Street Fighter, Tekken, The King of Fighters), one for League of Legends, one for PUBG Mobile (Asian Games version), and one coach for multiple titles including Gran Turismo 7, eFootball series (PC/Mobile), and Puyo Puyo Champions.

Common qualifications for applicants include registration as a coach with the association and holding an A-grade or higher esports coaching license issued by KeSPA (including those expected to receive it). Applicants who do not hold this qualification must complete the 2025 Esports Coaching Certification Course (A/B grade), which is currently accepting applications.

Furthermore, dedicated coaches must have at least three years of experience in their respective titles or have achieved significant results in tournaments recognized by the game publisher and the association. Foreign applicants must have at least two years of experience as a player or coach in the relevant title. Coaches for multiple titles are eligible if they have at least five years of experience across multiple games, with preference given to those who have served as a coach in international esports tournaments featuring three or more titles. Applications for the national team coaching positions are open until 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The final selection process will involve document screening, interviews, evaluation of team operation plans, deliberation and recommendation by the Esports Performance Improvement Committee, selection by the KeSPA Board of Directors, and final approval by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee.

The four selected coaches will serve from their hiring date in the first quarter of 2026 until November 30, 2026, performing their duties primarily at the Esports Training Center in Mapo, Seoul, as well as at domestic and international training camps.
