The Monster Hunter showcase, originally slated for the 9th, has been postponed following the earthquake that struck Japan.

The news was shared via the official Monster Hunter X account on the 9th. Capcom stated, "In light of the tsunami warnings issued following the recent earthquake off the coast of Japan, we have decided to postpone the Monster Hunter showcase broadcast," adding, "We will share the new broadcast date as soon as it has been decided."

Capcom had initially planned to host the Monster Hunter showcase starting at 7:00 AM on the 9th. It was a highly anticipated event, as the showcase was set to unveil detailed information on the fourth free update for Monster Hunter Wilds, arriving on the 16th, and the upcoming Monster Hunter Stories 3, scheduled for release next March.

However, the plans were canceled after a magnitude 7.5 earthquake hit off the coast of Aomori Prefecture in northeastern Honshu late on the night of the 8th. The surrounding areas experienced intense tremors reaching a shindo 6-strong, with tremors of shindo 3 felt as far away as Tokyo. Consequently, the Japan Meteorological Agency issued tsunami warnings and advisories along the coast from Hokkaido to the Tohoku region, which were lifted at 6:00 AM on the 9th.

A concrete rescheduled date has yet to be announced. Fans have been reacting to the news with understanding, noting, "I was wondering why I couldn't find the stream," "A 7.5 magnitude is definitely reason enough," and "I truly hope everyone there is safe."
