At CES 2026, AMD unveiled the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, a gaming processor featuring the Zen 5 architecture and AMD 3D V-Cache technology. This product offers a boost clock up to 400MHz higher than its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and introduces the 'Redstone' FSR frame generation technology.

The Ryzen 7 9850X3D features an 8-core, 16-thread configuration optimized for gaming workloads, supporting lower latency and improved frame rates. It boasts a maximum boost clock of 5.6GHz, a total of 104MB of cache memory, and a thermal design power (TDP) of 120W.

According to AMD, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D delivers up to 27% better gaming performance compared to the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K. Designed based on the Zen 5 architecture and 2nd-gen AMD 3D V-Cache technology, it targets high-end gaming that demands top-tier performance.

On the software side, it supports 'Redstone' FSR, which provides machine learning-based frame generation and upscaling. Users can experience this through the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.12.1 driver.

FSR Radiance Caching, a technology that improves ray tracing performance, was also announced. It intelligently predicts light behavior to reduce rendering time while maintaining visual quality, and is currently available in a developer preview format.

Systems equipped with the Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor are scheduled to be released starting in the first quarter through major OEMs, system integrators, and retail partners.
