Bandai Namco Entertainment Korea has announced that the flight shooter Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has officially surpassed 7 million units sold worldwide. This milestone pushes the total franchise sales for Ace Combat to a staggering 21 million units. To mark the occasion, the company has released a celebratory wallpaper on its official website.

Ace Combat 7 puts you in the cockpit, tasking you to become an ace pilot and navigate a realistically rendered sky with 360-degree freedom. Developed by Project Aces, the game features meticulously crafted clouds and terrain. You can even use the cloud cover to your advantage, turning the skies into a tactical playground for high-stakes dogfights.

Looking ahead, the latest entry in the series, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, is scheduled for a 2026 release. It returns to the familiar 'Strangereal' universe, this time focusing on the events of 2029. You will be able to pick it up on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.

Meanwhile, the series soundtrack is currently being distributed via the sound label 'Bandai Namco Game Music.' A recent update has expanded the library to include tracks from Ace Combat X and Ace Combat X2.
