The 'Dream of the Four Heroes' DLC for Dynasty Warriors: Origins, which features stories of four heroes not seen in the main campaign, was released on the 22nd. While both the base game and the DLC have climbed to the top of the Steam global charts, the reception is 'Mixed' due to the content composition.

While the main campaign of Dynasty Warriors: Origins follows the perspective of a nameless hero navigating the orthodox history of the Cao Cao, Sun Jian, and Liu Bei factions, the DLC focuses on supplementing the narratives of characters with less screen time. It differentiates itself from the main game by adding 'What If' scenarios where the protagonist joins different factions to change the course of history.

The core content includes dedicated scenarios for Zhang Jiao, Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shao, and Lu Bu. New weapons have been added: the long-range 'Bow' and the 'Throwing Knives' (Seungpyo), which allow for unconventional actions. Additionally, new officers like Zhou He and Diaochan join the fray, and players can use the new weapons and additional techniques for existing ones.

However, player reception since launch has been 'Mixed' (65% positive). While the number of reviews is not high, negative feedback points to the content being somewhat thin compared to the DLC's price, which is half that of the base game.
