The Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency and Kangwon Land on the 15th, establishing a joint response system to eradicate illegal gambling games and protect users.

The signing ceremony took place at the High1 Grand Hotel Convention in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, with key figures including GRAC Chairman Seo Tae-geon, Gangwon Provincial Police Agency Public Safety Chief Park Jae-hyun, and Kangwon Land Acting CEO Nam Han-gyu in attendance.

With the blurring boundaries between online and offline environments, the distribution channels for illegal gambling games have become increasingly diverse, heightening the need for user harm prevention and the creation of a healthy gaming culture.

The GRAC possesses institutional management capabilities such as game rating and post-management, the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency handles enforcement and investigations regarding illegal gambling, and Kangwon Land contributes its experience in user protection through gambling prevention programs.

The three organizations have established a collaborative system based on these areas of expertise. Under the agreement, they have committed to sharing intelligence on illegal gambling, conducting joint crackdowns, cooperating on victim protection and response, collaborating on education and public relations for a healthy gaming culture, promoting campaigns to raise public awareness, and identifying cooperative tasks through regular working-level meetings.

GRAC Chairman Seo Tae-geon stated, "Illegal gambling games are a problem directly linked to user harm, and practical results can only be achieved when institutional oversight, law enforcement, and field-level protection work in unison." He added, "Through this MOU, we will link the functions and roles of each organization to strengthen cooperation and create a healthy gaming environment that the public can trust."
