Set in the near-future on a lunar base, Capcom’s Pragmata is a sci-fi action title that blends puzzle-solving with gunplay. It centres on the adventure and bond between field operative Hugh Williams and an android girl named Diana. Interestingly, for a Capcom title, it supports full Korean voice dubbing, which really helps you dive into the narrative.

The story kicks off when communications vanish during research into 'Lunar Filament', a miraculous resource derived from a mysterious ore called 'Lunum'. Hugh, a member of the dispatch team, finds himself isolated following a massive moonquake and under fire from the rampaging AI, IDUS. After being rescued by Diana, the pair embarks on a journey to stop the chaos and, ultimately, find their way back to Earth.

The gameplay loop involves exploring hazardous zones and retreating to your 'Shelter' to catch your breath. Back at base, you can spend resources to upgrade gear or build rapport with Diana by gifting her collectibles. Combat is a mix of gunplay and hacking; while Diana handles the line-drawing hacking puzzles to strip enemy armour, Hugh makes the most of the openings with his auto-reloading Grip Gun and Stasis Net, keeping the action frantic and engaging.

Before launch, the game secured a respectable 86 on Metacritic. With 96 outlets weighing in on the PS5 version, the consensus was that the narrative is genuinely moving, and the hacking-infused FPS mechanics provide a refreshing twist on the genre.
