Look, let's be honest: the Nordic-inspired survival hit Valheim is finally shedding its Early Access skin after five long years.

The folks over at Iron Gate announced on the 8th via a Steam post that the full 1.0 version is set to drop on September 9th. It’s coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2, bringing along a fresh batch of enemies, building mechanics, and weapons to play with.

The accompanying trailer gives us a cheeky peek at what’s in store. We’re talking massive, lumbering ancient trees, aerial terrors, and flaming skeletons—all serving as new boss encounters. To keep things interesting, you'll also be trekking through a more diverse set of biomes, including glacial zones, burning plains, and the underworld.

Valheim first landed on our hard drives back in February 2021, offering an open-world survival experience where you, as a Viking, carve out a life in the wilderness, crafting gear and building fortifications to survive the local wildlife.It didn't take long for the game to make a mark, smashing past 10,000,000 units sold within just its first year.As of the 8th, it maintains a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam, with 534,780 users weighing in and 94% giving it a thumbs up.
