With the Steam Summer Sale kicking off on the 26th, the developer applied a 90% discount to both the base game and all DLCs for the first time since launch. With the base game dropping to the 1,000 KRW range and the full bundle containing all expansions sitting comfortably in the 5,000 KRW range, it is no surprise that gamers have been snapping these up, driving the game up the sales charts.

This discount surge is reflected not just in sales, but in the concurrent player count as well. On the first day of the sale, the number of concurrent players soared past 80,000, easily eclipsing the previous 2021 record of 70,000. The momentum carried through the weekend, climbing to over 123,000, and as of the 30th, the game hit a staggering peak of 130,954 concurrent players.

Beyond the sheer bargain, the game's inherent quality is the primary driver behind this upward trend. Add to that a thriving Steam Workshop community constantly churning out quality-of-life improvements and expansion mods, and you have a recipe for sustained engagement. Meanwhile, in the global top-selling charts, while familiar discounted titles held their ground, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC managed to secure the 10th spot. While the publisher did increase the discount slightly for both the base game and the DLC, the reveal of the trailer for the animated series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 around midnight on the 30th, alongside a confirmed broadcast schedule, certainly played a part in this resurgence.
