Rust, the survival game where safety was once a luxury reserved for the lucky few, has finally introduced some designated safe zones. Following a server wipe and a packed July content update featuring the new apartment complex, the game has surged to the upper echelons of the global Steam charts.

The star of this update is undoubtedly the apartment complex. You can now rent a room to stash your hard-earned loot for a price, with three distinct tiers of rooms available depending on your budget. For the more entrepreneurial types, you can even rent out shops within the complex to peddle your wares directly to other players.

Beyond the real estate boom, the developers have focused on quality-of-life improvements. The official introduction of the Clan Table makes managing your squad much smoother, allowing clan names to appear on nameplates and simplifying permission settings. Furthermore, Softcore mode now includes raid hours and a double resource gathering rate, effectively lowering the barrier to entry for newcomers.

Facepunch Studios has already outlined its 2026 roadmap, and there is plenty more to look forward to. The third quarter promises the arrival of a battle pass system, progression overhauls, and reworks for existing monuments. As for the fourth quarter, the developer plans to introduce new character customization, additional fauna, and the grappling hook as a fresh traversal tool.

Elsewhere, the usual suspects continue to dominate the charts with only minor fluctuations. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Re-Synced climbed to 6th place, while The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth dipped to 7th.

In the Concurrent Players rankings, Naraka: Bladepoint secured 12th place with 128,678 players following its update, which included a new map. Rust, buoyed by its sales spike, saw a massive surge in user count, landing at 5th place with 197,140 Concurrent Players. Meanwhile, Metcha Chameleon slipped to 7th place as its count dropped to the 170,000 range.
