Palworld has been building serious anticipation since the Summer Game Fest showcase last June, where the developer teased a massive update alongside the official release. Following the 1.0 update, the game climbed to 3rd place in sales, and players have been flooding back to check out the new features. By 4:00 PM on the 10th, the concurrent players count reached 253,292, and the momentum shows no sign of slowing down.

The heart of this 1.0 release is a significant expansion of the game's volume and its progression systems. The 'World Tree,' central to the story, and the new 'Sunreach' region are now open, accompanied by 72 new Pals. Pocketpair has also introduced an awakening system that uses gems to unlock hidden potential, alongside a mutation system that grants higher stats and unique passive traits during breeding.

Combat pacing and quality-of-life features have received a substantial overhaul. The clunky dodge roll has been replaced with a snappier dash, and the level cap has been bumped from 65 to 80, bringing new high-tech weaponry and the 'Wing Pack' glider into the fold. Furthermore, base raids have evolved from simple defensive scraps into full-blown wave-based challenges, while balance adjustments have been applied to experience gains, capture rates, and endgame content.

Construction enthusiasts can now enjoy new parts like artificial plants and underwater building kits. Base management has also seen improvements, with better resource transport and collection, plus new production buildings for generating ore and extracting crude oil. That said, due to the sheer volume of new content, Pocketpair recommends a complete removal of existing mods created via the Steam Workshop to prevent any conflicts.
