Specifically, Kim Hyung-suk plans to vacate the position following the first-anniversary milestone of Chaos Zero Nightmare this October.

Smilegate confirmed the news on the 24th, noting that the duo is departing for personal reasons. While a precise departure timeline and successors have yet to be named, Smilegate stated, "The co-CEOs will do their utmost to ensure a smooth handover of duties to their successors during the remaining period."

As the director overseeing Chaos Zero Nightmare, Kim Hyung-suk remains focused on the first-anniversary festivities. Smilegate added, "The plan is to wrap up the first anniversary with a sense of responsibility, ensuring that both Epic Seven and Chaos Zero Nightmare continue to receive unwavering love from the player base."

For Chaos Zero Nightmare, Live Director Choi Seung-hyun and the rest of the team are spearheading domestic updates, maintaining a steady dialogue with players through online broadcasts to outline new content and future directions. The title saw a bit of a public sentiment recovery following the half-anniversary update in April, and the team is currently addressing earlier narrative and balance concerns in a sequential fashion.
