Pearl Abyss has released the 'Agent', the 32nd class to join Black Desert, on the 29th. Designed with a secret agent aesthetic, the Agent is a male character who shares a lineage with the class 'Drakania's counterpart' Dead Eye—introduced in 2024—and wields a similarly styled revolver, though one with a larger caliber. The Agent also utilizes 'Magic Bullets' as a secondary weapon, which can provide support fire or be used to push the character's physical prowess to its limits for devastating strikes. Key techniques include 'Blink' for rapid infiltration and extraction, and the 'Mozambique Drill', a nod to real-world combat marksmanship.

To assist the growth of new and returning players, the developer has introduced the 'Hyper Boost' program. It is designed to help players reach a combined AP and DP score of 730, ensuring they can engage with the game's broader content. Upon completing the season and graduating from the Olvia Academy, players can earn rewards such as three types of Sovereign weapons, TET-grade armor, PEN Karzade accessories, and the 'Reversed Garmoth's Heart' for upgrading Sovereign gear. This follows the 2026 Heidel Ball held on July 26 in SoCal, where the long-term roadmap for the game was unveiled.

The world is set to expand with the second part of the Edania region. Familiar faces like Elion, Agras, and Aal return to tie the lore together, alongside two new accessories: Ekreta and Aperon. Edania Part 2 will roll out new sulfur golem hunting grounds and main quests in stages leading up to September 16. Furthermore, the developer is adding an 'Instant Character Tag' system—allowing you to switch between characters without a cooldown—and a 'Family Dispatch' system, which lets your alt characters farm, process, or fish for rewards.

Graphic fidelity is also getting a polish through updates spanning August and September. You will be able to play with DirectX 12, AMD FSR 3.1, and Nvidia DLSS support. For the PC version, the roadmap includes support up to FSR 4.1 following the initial 3.1 rollout, alongside plans to migrate North American console servers. Other quality-of-life additions arriving in waves include Marni’s Combat Analyzer, the new 'Perica' mount, yellow-grade ship gear, and a full overhaul of the leveling system and experience progression.
