The Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Sports Ethics Center on the 29th to protect human rights in the esports field.

This agreement was established to prevent human rights violations and malpractice that esports players and coaches may encounter during their careers, and to provide institutional support. Both organizations plan to cooperate in various areas, including: ▲ Education to prevent corruption and human rights violations in esports, ▲ Research and surveys on the status of and prevention of corruption and human rights violations in esports, and ▲ Other support for mutual development.

In particular, the Sports Ethics Center plans to use this agreement as an opportunity to raise ethical awareness in the esports field and develop and introduce specialized training programs to prevent human rights violations and corruption.

KeSPA President Kim Young-man stated, "As esports is still in its nascent stage compared to other sports, high ethical standards and a thorough code of ethics from all stakeholders in the ecosystem are required for sustainable growth," adding, "I am confident that this MOU will be an important step in securing growth momentum for the esports industry and creating a sound sports culture."

Sports Ethics Center Chairperson Park Ji-young said, "Through this agreement, we will listen more closely to the voices of those in the esports community and do our best to lay the foundation for preventing human rights violations and corruption."
