Wargaming has rolled out the 14.9 update for World of Warships, marking the 250th anniversary of the US Navy with a celebratory event.

From October 13, you can dive into the limited-time 'Naval Port of Freedom' content, where you'll build your own base, brush up on US naval history, and potentially earn the Tier 8 cruiser Bridgeport.

To get the port shipshape, you'll need to assemble four distinct models. The Naval Command center lets you take on special combat missions in Random, Ranked, and Brawl modes. Over at the Operations Command, you’ll find missions for Operations, Co-op, and temporary battle types. You can dispatch ships to expeditions from the Naval Base, while the Fuel Terminal allows you to pump fuel into other models to unlock even more missions.

Each model can be upgraded up to level 3, with both functionality and aesthetics shifting as you progress. There are 10 intermediate stages scattered between levels; climbing through these stages boosts your mission rewards accordingly.

The 14.9 update also marks the start of the Black Friday Dockyard event. It’s a 35-stage construction project that lets you build the Lüshun B, based on the Pan-Asian destroyer Lüshun.

The Lüshun B packs a punch with high-DPM AP shells, a rapid-fire 130mm main battery, and two quintuple torpedo tubes loaded with deep-water torpedoes. Just keep in mind that while it has a great stealth rating, it isn't exactly the most nimble ship on the high seas.

To mark German Unity Day on October 3, the 'Unity, Justice, and Freedom' event pass is also going live with a collection of German-themed goodies. The first progression line nets you Commander Goldelse, the Black-Red-Gold permanent camouflage, and the Iron Cross permanent camo for the Felix Schultz.

Moving on to the second line, you’ll snag Commander Delphius Oracle as a bonus reward. Continue through this path to earn the Hell permanent camouflage for Tier 8 ships, the German battleship Prinz Eitel Friedrich, and a Tier 10 version of the Hell permanent camo as the final prize.
