Nexon rolled out the 'Gathering' update for The First Descendant, the shooter developed by its subsidiary Nexon Games, on the 7th.

In this latest chapter, every Descendant must rally to rescue Commander 'Alpha' and push back against the invaders led by 'Karel'. It marks the grand finale of the game's core narrative arc, documenting the desperate struggle for human survival, while introducing 'Harris' as the newest recruit to the roster.

Harris, the latest addition, is a mechanical-arm-wielding specialist in area-of-effect carnage. By accumulating 'Toxin' through skill usage, players can fuel further abilities or trigger potent buffs. With aggressive moves like 'Assault Smash' and the leaping 'Field Intrusion', Harris excels at brutal close-quarters combat. You can also deploy skills that deal poison damage while boosting movement speed, or fire off lasers that amplify melee weapon damage for some truly satisfying combos.

The update also brings a stylish Bayonetta collaboration to the table, featuring iconic full-body skins, weapon cosmetics, makeup sets, social motions, and spawns. Furthermore, the 'Super-Giant Receptor' dungeon in Axion Plains has been added, alongside the formidable boss 'Pattern Flores'.

We are also seeing the introduction of 'Forerunner Modules' to boost character stats. These allow you to customise attack range and skill power within specific limits. You can hunt for these modules by clearing various content, including World Quests, Worldcrashers, and the Sigma Sector, though their availability is limited per rotation.

On the 20th, the game will launch a one-to-one trading system, allowing players to swap Trigger Modules and Forerunner Modules for premium currency. Following a beta period in November, full trading for Forerunner Modules kicks off in December. To celebrate the new episode, the Battle Pass has been refreshed with a suite of cosmetic rewards. Highlights include the new 'Hypernova' sword, the medieval-themed 'Exonite' universal skin, the 'Demonbane' ultimate weapon skin, four social motions, new spawns, and figures.

Running from November 6 to December 4, a new event allows players to earn items like 'Essive', chest attachments, and re-adjustment materials for Forerunner Modules by clearing main story missions. During this same window, completing daily tasks grants you an Ultimate Descendant selector—letting you choose between Ultimate Lepic, Ultimate Ajax, or Ultimate Viessa—plus exclusive Bayonetta social motions.
