Nexon held the 'Mabinogi' 2025 Winter Showcase, titled 'NEW LIFE', on the 29th at the WDG Studio in Mapo-gu, Seoul. The team unveiled a roadmap for the winter update, featuring the new main story G28, 'Twilight Remnant', along with a slew of system overhauls.

In G28, 'Twilight Remnant', you—the Milesian—will venture alongside the East Wind Mercenaries to a brand-new region called 'Gorias'. The narrative centres on two local residents, Poinse and Kiria, while also digging into the lore of the monster that once terrorised Tir Chonaill and its connection to the legendary Saint Adelia.

Gorias is described as a 'city of twilight' forcibly transported to Erinn. It is a desolate place abandoned by the gods, now kept in a bizarre state of stasis by ancient machinery. The main story introduces a colourful cast, including Adelia, the priestess once thought dead after defeating an apostle in Tir Chonaill. You will also encounter Poinse, a machine-girl, and Kiria, a hulking machine-boy, alongside Glana and Skamol who act as companions, and Isla, the former High Priest and Adelia's old friend.

Two new Arcanas, 'Melodic Puppeteer' and 'Fury Fighter', are joining the fray. The Melodic Puppeteer blends puppetry with musical talents and is unlocked through Glory, an aspiring idol NPC working in a doll workshop. The Fury Fighter, meanwhile, combines martial arts with close-quarters combat, mastered through Ater, a dark-haired elf NPC who has carved his own path wandering the deserts.

Following the 'NEW RISE' Fantasy Party held last summer, the team finally pulled the curtain back on their life skill overhaul. They are introducing a six-month seasonal system covering gathering, crafting, and deliveries, with trade seasons also shifting to a six-month cycle.

Through the new 'Life Association', players can take on delivery quests to earn rewards and boost their 'Season Life Level'. This level, which resets every season, allows you to strengthen 'Specialist Effects'. By completing association-specific tasks, you gain 'Specialist Effect Points' to tailor your character into a true master of your chosen trade.

The 'Taillteann Farm' is getting a major facelift to align with the life skill seasons. It’s shifting into a dedicated space where you can freely plant, nurture, harvest, and fulfill delivery orders. During this process, you will encounter dynamic events like 'Seed Potential', changing weather and seasons, and even the appearance of frost-thieves.

A new ranking and Master system is also on the way. The existing 'Royal Smith' and 'Royal Tailor' roles are moving under the Life Association, with new categories added to make five total fields (Metalworking, Tailoring, Food Preparation, Pharmacy, and Handicraft), each featuring six tiers from novice to master. Reaching the Master rank unlocks superior benefits for equipment crafting, shop usage, recipes, and gathering.

Furthermore, rare, time-limited gathering nodes will spawn in the field for those who meet specific professional requirements. These materials can be used for new recipes. An 'Item Dictionary' is also being added, allowing you to check item sources, spawn locations, auction house info, and crafting methods at a glance.

Quality of life improvements are also on the agenda. Nexon is making the extra equipment slot ticket free and expanding the maximum slot count to 20. Additionally, they are streamlining debuffs into three clean categories: Physical Defence/Protection Reduction, Magic Defence/Protection Reduction, and Damage Amplification. Pet debuffs are also being adjusted so that summoning one pet will apply the passive effects of others in your friend list simultaneously.

Dungeons like the Radiant Orb will now feature a 'bundle input' for materials, and a quest guide system with auto-navigation is being implemented to keep you from getting lost. The Soul Stream storage is being expanded to match the capacity of PC Bang storage and will now open by default upon character creation.

Mystic Atelier Season 2 is incoming, introducing new Standard and Trend fabrics. Standard fabric can be crafted via life skills, and the team has lowered the tailoring cost for Standard-grade items while boosting the success rate for Edge-grade tailoring. Synthesis risk has been reduced, and even outfits without grades can now be upgraded to unlock special motion sequences.

Finally, the team touched upon 'Project Eternity', their ambitious plan to migrate Mabinogi to Unreal Engine, and teased the audience with a clip of an 'Incomplete Glas Ghaibhleann'.

A flurry of winter events awaits, including the Fever Season, which provides Fergussius weapons and Refined armour. Expect winter-themed cosmetics, growth support, and login rewards. There's also the Winter Sports Mini-game 'Athletic Meet', Black Combo Card events, PC Bang benefits, and an outfit rental service.

Nexon is accepting pre-registrations for the Mabinogi 'NEW LIFE' update from November 29th until 23:59 on December 10th. Participants will receive rewards such as a Partner Character Selection Box.
